Fleur Miller - Senior TeacherKia Ora. My name is Fleur Miller I have been working in the early childhood sector since 2001. In that time I have seen many childcare centres and nothing compares to Tuatara Preschool. Through the Reggio Emilia approach the children have opportunities to explore, discover and be in an environment that is just as much theirs as it is the teachers. And this is where my passion lies. It is in allowing the children to be able to learn in their own time while being supported be their teachers. It is giving the children the tools to express what is on their minds. It is allowing the child to be a child whilst still being able to gain the necessary skills that are needed for life. It is being in an open honest relationship with the child’s parents and family. And through all of this and so much more Tuatara Preschool is that home away from home that helps the child to flourish and grow. I look forward to working alongside you as the parent and your family. | ![]() |
Our teaching team is made up of qualified teachers or teachers in training who are passionate about what they do. They are exceptionally skilled at providing challenging learning experiences that foster children’s growing sense of themselves as competent and capable learners. They provide encouragement and support that encourages children’s independent thinking as they explore and make discoveries. They interact with children in ways that affirm their ideas and choices and enrich their play and conversion.
Tuatara Preschool is very fortunate to have a full-time experienced cook on the team. Wendy provides a range of balanced and nutritious home-cooked meals throughout the day. We work under the guidelines of the National Heart Foundation.
The Ministry of Education requires a ratio of 10 children to each teacher, but at Tuatara Preschool we have one educator to every seven children.
